Bed and Breakfast Web Design - Portfolio Close-Up

When the first owners of the J.L. Jensen house built their Victorian home in 1901, they could not have even imagined that one day it would be seen daily by visitors from around the world. Yet today professional photos showcase the house and invite people everywhere to stay in this charming bed and breakfast.

Dreams of Yesteryear Bed and Breakfast’s site was launched in 1998, among the first bed and breakfasts--and one of the first Stevens Point, Wisconsin business websites--on the web. The goal? Attract guests to make bed and breakfast reservations.

In spring of 2006 the website was given a total makeover, tripling the number of pages and adding online reservations. Within two days of the new web design being online, an international reservation was received for six nights in the best suite.

One of the beautiful parts about working on an eight-year-old, well-established website is that it is already present in the search engine results. Dreams of Yesteryear Bed and Breakfast’s website had a handful of dated-looking pages but we had been running a link exchange campaign with it for a while, and we helped the owner determined which online directories were helping her by providing a link to her homepage. This means we were revamping a PR-5 (a pretty high ranking) site according to Google. It is a cinch to get new pages ranking on this site, and new pages have meant increased traffic and reservations.
